Standing Buddha at Beopjusa II Photo

Photographer’s Note

A front on view of the same standing Buddha statue at Beopjusa. Interestingly, this is the Buddha yet to come on judgement day. Something akin to 'Christ will come again', in Christianity. And like Christ & Mohammed, Buddha was also tempted by the Devil, but declined all offers. Perhaps a supreme being has many manifestations?

Hello Chris,
The colourful chinese lanterns make splendid lead lines, whilst the green vegetation in the background sets off the golden tones of the statue to great effect. Very good sharpness.

Bonjour Chris,

An interesting frontal sight on Buddha here. I like much perfect symmetry and the depth given to the image with these rows of coloured lanterns. Beautiful glance, Chris cheer.

In this one, another wonderful composition and here the typically oriental statue plays the most important role in the image, together with those colorful lanterns! I'm really enjoying this series where you present local folklore in such an excellent way, that means, outstanding quality pictures!

Though the light seems to be harsh, you've brought out the details of the statue of Buddha's face well. Like the colourful paper lanterns which offer perspective & also frame the statue well. Good work!
