Photographer’s Note
Taken yesterday at the Beopju~sa Temple ('Sa' is Korean for 'temple'). May 2 was Buddhas birthday & there were still quite a few colourful paper lanterns decorating the temple grounds, although workmen were collecting & packing them away when I was visiting.

Hello Chris,
I am learning so much about other cultures and countries. It would be nice to leave such decorative items in situ a little longer!
Geat pov, using the colourful lanterns to set the tone for the shot.
Good details, images well placed in the frame and a chance to interpret the scale (which surprise me a little) by the presence of the people.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris,
The paper lanterns make for some nice splashes of foreground colour. I like how the Buddha and pagoda are framed by the trees. Good composition with pleasing natural colours and excellent sharpness.

Hi Chris.
Interesting viewpoint chosen here, with the lanterns making a superb coloured framing device for the scene behind. Good timing to capture the the pair with the pram in a judicious spot. There's a lot going on, really, but the large Buddha remains the focal point and towers over the tiny figures.

Andrew

Hi Chris,
The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The tree with the lanterns and the other trees are framing well the temple and the statue of Buddha. The point of view takes our eyes toward the temple, the statue and to the mountain in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The nice blue sky is sending a lighting which is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Chris. Very nice this one - good angle from underneath the tree, and the colorful lanterns make a delightful and luminous contrast with the various traditional structures on the temple's premises.

hi Chris
I never had a chance to see so many part of SKorea because the tour guide was always rushing and packing a lot of unattractive destinations and I was not into photography yet at the time of my only visit there.
Now I wish I could be a english teacher like you and spend time there to explore all the options of photography :)
I always thought the Japanese influence is heavy in SKorea and at times find it hard to differentiate between them in culture or tradition but there are subtle differences in detail.
This one is one of them, the lanterns and Buddha.
I like it. The way you have presented the view to show much of traditional Korean ways. You were careful in not letting the lanterns blocking the Buddha or temple. Good work.

Hi Chris,
Travel to Korea under the sun I see… Very beautiful and judicious saturation of the colors on this sight which emphasizes well all these lanterns. I like too much the luminosity on this panorama. Beautiful celebration of Buddha. Thank you Chris.
