Photographer's Note

A wooden mask, in the Songnisan street market, on the way to Beopjusa Buddhist Temple. It looks similar to the Indonesian Garuda masks, (influenced by Indian mythology).

It's very different to traditional Korean Masks.

The close-up view is showing with precision the details and colors of the mask. The subject is well framed. The blurred background is putting inb evedicence the mask. The direct light does not hurt the colors. Have a nice day.

Excellent photo, excellent capture of this artwork! Simple but great composition, great light managment, although I think that a little underexposure would give better contrasts and more saturated colours!

A beautiful wood carving and a perfect capture with the great details and lovely colors. The demon face (Korean: 귀면 gwimyeon) is engraved in relief. It is a shield with the demon face design (Korean: 귀면방패 gwimyeon bangpae). As one of the oldest traditional Korean design, the demon has a fearful look with horns protruding from the forehead and sharp fangs.
