Photographers Note
Sultan Mosque after sunset, the biggest mosque in Singapore. The mosque has an Indian style, with a (overexposed) Burmese style gold dome, the arcades in the lower left could be in colonial Mexico or Guatemala, while the highrise office buildings could be in any city obsessed with boxy high rises, and Singapore is definitely such a city. Bacause of the nature of the street layout, I could not get a better angle than this. I will add 2 other versions on the same building to workshop.
I have no idea about the administrative divisions of this country, I selected Central Area "State", if this is incorrect, please inform me so that make the correction.

Hi Tan,
the title translates well your compo. That contrast between warm and cool tones is what most pleases me..and of course you've brought nice details of the local architecture. Very good job!

Hi Tan
Really like the blue hour here with the perspective well chosen. The gold dome really sets of against the blue and I think the lit towers lighting plays well into this image.
Very good colours, lighting and contrasts, well captured.

I've tried a few shots in Spore as well, but I think the interesting thing with yours is the contrast with the skyscraper behind and the mosque. It is a blend of modernity and tradition. Well done.

Tan,
the blue and gold make perfect contrast. Great light that illuminated the dome and the atmosphere. Beautiful sky rich in blue tone that enhance the cityscape and bulidings. great sharpness and clarity for a blue hour shot. I like the the workshop as well, but this one is more balanced compositionally, therefore I think is better choice for the main post. Thanks for sharing.

Selamlar...

Hi Captain,
Ah this looks like the building featured on the one and only Singapore image of my gallery, these domes and shapes do wonder glowing in the blue clouds hour, good 100 nights value here but why did you cut the bottom that way, did not want to turn it into a car show ?
Have a nice day JY

There is a mood in this photo that talks me about monsoon, about Asia... The clouds giving a magic touch in clear contrast with the goldel dome... Nice one Tan.

Hi Tan
I think this area is also called Arab Street? The mosque has a distinct but peculiar architecture & your note throws more light on it. Under the blue hour sky, the dome really shines like gold. This small part of the city looks so different from the Singapore we think of in our minds. Well done!

I haven't seem many night shots from you, tan but this one is fine.It is beautifully exposed and composed with your unfailing eye.I remember Bugis Street so well, from when it was he center of a wonderful nightlife, before the vandal government tore it down in the name of progress. It is interesting to se it make such a polished picture now. regards kevin

hi Tan
Very interesting to isolate this section of the buildings to show a contrasting golden dome with modern highrise and older part of the shops.
