Photographer’s Note
The most interesting about other countries is trying their local dishes. In Singapore, one of the many many many would be Singapore Laksa. Laksa, or Laksa Lemak(coconut based dishes), is essentially a noodle dish served with a prawn flavoured coconut based curry. It comes in many variations with different names depending on the topping and ingredients used. As far as i am able to tell here it's: Shrimp, fried beancurd, fish cake, soy bean sprouts, noodles, curry, hot paste. This one was bought at Changi airport, S$7. The table at the food court had a shiny metal surface, which I have edited out to bring out the laksa.

One of my favourite things when travelling is as you write, trying the local dishes. Next time you go to Singapore you should try the curry fishhead. To bad I don't remember the name of the dish... Anyway, thanks for your tip and interesting picture!

Oh dear you're making me hungry... As a Singaporean overseas I miss local food everytime I am not home, and this photo is so good it makes my stomach growl!
Anyway, ask any Singaporean and you will be directed to their favourite eatery for their favourite Singaporean dish. Somebody's favourite might be another person's poison. Take the case of the infamous durian!
Anyway, thanks for some interesting cultural insight, and welcome to TE!
