Strolling along the Esplanade Bridge you can get a nice POV of The Esplanade. This magnificent structure dominates the waterfront; the unique architectural character found on these ‘spiky’ twin domes makes it a modern Icon of Singapore.

Also another great spot to capture this landscape if from the Merlion statue located just at the corner of the Esplanade Bridge and Collyer Quay. See how it looks 'underneath' this bridge (see worshop)

Here if you like to capture both the Merlion and The Esplanade, take a look at this image: Lion's Share.

About The Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay

The Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay (Simplified Chinese: 滨海艺术中心; Pinyin: Bīnhǎi yìshù zhōngxīn) is a waterside building located on six hectares of waterfront land alongside Marina Bay near the mouth of the Singapore River, purpose-built to be the centre for performing arts for the island nation of Singapore. Taking its name from the nearby Esplanade, It contains a 1,600 seat concert hall and a 2,000 seat theatre for the performing arts. The library@esplanade is located on the third floor of the building. There are outdoor performing centres, and retail and food space at the Esplanade Mall. There is an outdoor open space on the fourth floor of the building.

This always is a great view from the Esplanade to the “durian”. Well done.
Antonio

PS. Where is the note? Too much work?!!!

Hi Jom,
I like much the pictures of night, this one is very beautiful...!
Good POV and good light and colours, the sharpness is perfect too..!
Very nice composition..!
Best regards,
Patrick

Jom,
A memorable location..Especially after I have had my shot just across!...
So much for the 18-55 Lens!...
So much a natural continuation.
Regards,
Prem.

Well lit and exposed. The colors of the city by night are beautiful.
Cheers,
Dave

Nice shot Jom. Perfect timing with the deep blue sky. At first sight I said "where is this in HK?". Than I saw the location...

Great angle and detail here. I like the "shimmering" look on the top of the Esplanade. Colors and exposure are excellent and great note to match.

Both WS photos are similarly if not more stunning. The "Underneath the Bridge" shot is simply an excellent shot. Very artistic with a great pattern to it. Again, lighting, composition, exposure and your POV are excellent. The second shot of the waterfront taken from the Merlion Statue looks great too.

I also read your note about the 18-55 and I have to agree that the only limitations with most lenses these days are wit hthe photographer. Too many people blaming bad shots on their equipment. I've seen some great photos taken with what are supposed to be the crappiest pieces of equipment. I think the bottom line is, a great photographer can take good pictures with anything, as long as he / she knows how to use it.

Nice work.
Great shots.
John

Hi Jom,
A nice entry in your Singqpore at night series, the angle gives you depth, the view is well exposed and all these lights are shining.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Jom!
Some more great night shots! That building is wonderful, guess it's even better during the night because of the lights. I like the three shots, they're really great, exposure, colours, composition... Good work!

Nice shot of the Esplanade Jom;

Perfect exposure as nothing seems to be overexposed at all. I believe the Merlion (just to your right in this shot) was under 'cleaning' at the time you took this shot?

Did you happen to catch the National Day? I was home in Canada when it happened...

All the best!
- Dan

P.S.- I've added your shot to my Esplanade theme...

Hello Jom!
I love night shots!
This is just perfect!
Great colours, light and clarity!
Good perspective!
Excellent done!
Best regards!
Lili
