A group of trishaw drivers, chatting and taking it easy, on a cool early evening; outside the Raffles' City Shopping Centre.
I was wandering around when I caught sight of this little gathering.
Besides the organised Neon togged Trishaw Brigades that takes tourists on wild rides thru the city centre ( check out Tai Vo's pic on them ); there a lot of other trishaw drivers that hangs around the cross junction between Raffle's City, Chjimes and Raffles Hotel.
Although outmoded as public transportation, the trishaw still move people around, albeit most being tourists on novelty rides.
The present day trishaw is now painted in all colours of the spectrum exept the traditional Oilve Green.
Most likely then not, the driver would have a tape deck installed, blasting 70s mandarin and hokkien hits.
If you're around this area after 5pm, you just might see another impromptu meeting of the BrasBasah Trishaw Social Club.

This photo depicts the ''Daily Life'' theme more than any other I have seen. But what makes it for me is the way you've blurred the background, bringing the pic to life & making it real. Really good note, too!

Nice traffic blur while the men just hang out and relax. this would be stronger if it was framed a little to the left, include the entire wheel and trim some on the right.

We have these kind of drivers in China too. They always sit and wait for customer but now more people like take taxi. I like the shot. Each man tell a different story by his face. The car in the background look also very nice. Good shot!

Nice scene, a pity the camera wasn't angled just a bit to the left, catching the wheel. Pts tomorrow.

A wonderful docushot of yours! The most striking part of this composition is the contrast between the fast paced blurred (public)traffic in the back and leisurely pose of the trishaw pedaleurs and their OK-ness with this (esp. the man in the red shirt and with the fag). Nice job, Steely and fine note too as usual.

The way you shot it, with the blurry traffic adds to the "chill" looking guys in the picture, enjoying the time on their own pace. The cropped yellow trishaw is somewhat disturbing (just a little), A great daily life shot Steely , thanks for sharing

A "high impact" snapshot of daily life. The vibrant colours, speeding traffic and a casual gathering caught in time - you've sucessfully transformed a mundane street corner into visual story. Great job!

Woh, great shot. I like to see you capture the way they chating and enjoying their time. So original. The background is an added bonus as comparison to the modern way of transportation. I agree that the composition could be improved, but still like it as now. =)
