Relaxing with Koi Photo

Photographer’s Note

5.50 p.m. - When traveling long distances it is hard to avoid having to transit and the wait at the airport is not the activity we normally fancy. But it is here that we can see those travelers trying to put into good use the time there. This shot was taken at Changi airport as I was on transit heading for Sydney. The couple and the pond of Koi attracted my attention and it is nice to feel this atmosphere amidst the hustle and bustle of all the planes and the hurrying passengers.

Framed by ferns..! And Changi is a unique airport... I often wonder why there are so few airport photographs, should be lots of opportunities and situations!

Aloysuis its nice to see this couple beside the fish pond relaxing. But it does look like the man is checking his watch. Sometimes no matter how busy the the life is one has a real struggle to slow down and relax in this world.
Your photo has good depth with the fern branches filling the framework in this photo. Good exposure...good work!

An interesting and well thought out POV, with this lofty perch from which to shoot downward. Hard to believe there is such attractive and peaceful scenes at airports - though I have seen such at Honolulu. The koi are clearly seen, and the waiting couple are caught oblivious to the camera. It does appear though that the fellow is checking his watch! I like the view here of the graceful ferns and the high impact of the large format. Well captured, Aloysius.

Hi Aloysius, This is a good hide away place in a busy airport. You have well shown the quiet environment with the dense trees and attractive coy fishes. Without the big luggage, it is hard to believe that this is at an airport. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Aloysius,
VEry nice angle, capturing the couple just spending time and probably waiting for the next flight. I hope you also, didn't have to wait too much. Nowadays with the wireless internet in some airports, the wait is getting a bit easier. Some of my posts were uploaded while waiting my flights. Excellent light and colors.
