Photographer’s Note
This is a sticht of 5 images (CLICK ON for the Large Version) took on a public park in the heart of Singapore.
On the left side of the image there are the skyscrapes of the Downtown Core district.
For a national law skyscrapers in Singapore cannot are higher than 280 meters.
OUB Center, 280 meters, 63 floors
OUB Plaza Two, 162 meters, 38 floors
OUB Plaza One, 280 meters, 66 floors
OCBC Centre, 198 meters, 52 floors
Pickering Operations Complex, 177 meters, 43 floors
On the foreground there is the field of the Singapore Cricket Club, established in the 1852. The Club is the low building with a clock tower and the typical red roofs.
From the middle to the right there are:
The City Hall (was build in the 1929)
The Supreme Court (build in the 30's)
That rectangular field and street cross was the heart of many important political events of that small State.
It was here that Lee Kuan Yew, as Prime Minister, proclaimed self-government for Singapore on 5 June 1959 and
merger with Malaysia on 16 September 1963.
After Separation, the first fully-independent Singapore Government was sworn in at City Hall on 9 August 1965.
It was also here that the British accepted the surrender of the Japanese on 12 September 1945,
formally ending the Japanese Occupation of Singapore
Today the grass filed is a public park and is easy to see rubgy and football matches.

Ciao Paolo,
Que bellissimo il pano !!!
Very well stitched and impressive view, I like how the high buildings rise over the old colonial style ones, I remember similar views from Kuala Lumpur. The colors too are powerful and contrasted, green against red for example.
Buona giornata,
Jean-Yves

Very nice picture with a good point of view. When I was in Singapore I did not walk on this park. I just walked on the fringes of this park. TFS.

Hi Paolo,
Interesting to see football/cricket field so close to the highrise centre. But thats OK if it's open for public when there's no game.
Nice clouds and interesting combination of architecture. I think the stitch is not completely inline, but a bit wavy.

Hi Paolo,
Excellent work with the stiching and a very effective format to show this place. It makes us feel so relax while moving our head slowly from the left to the right while admiring the varieties of architecture from different times. The weather is just great and the lovely clouds helped to make it very attractive. Excellent piece of work!! Best regards.
