The partial silhouette of the Sultan Mosque against the late evening sky.
"Named after the first Sultan of Singapore, the imposing structure that is the Sultan Mosque was built with a SGD3,000 grant from the East India Company. This is the largest mosque in Singapore and the present building was constructed in 1928. With its massive gold-topped dome and spacious prayer hall, the mosque has one particularly interesting feature--the base of the dome is made up of glass bottles. In the evenings, residents gather at the garden to enjoy the cool breezes and let the hassles of the day slip away." Source: http://www.wcities.com/en/record/,34390/85/record.html

Very good shot Chris. It shows it's power and hugeness.
I think it would look even nicer if U made it a little bit lighter.

Ciao Chris, a nice backlight shot, the partial silhouette works well in this composition, I like the blue dominant and the way that you have taken it from this low POV.. compliments!!!
have a nice week, Fabio.

Très belle image, j’adore ton angle de tir !
Belle lumière bleutée qui fait parfaitement ressortir le moindre détails malgré le peu de lumière !
Très bon PP
Beau travail Chris

THe POV is excellent, the colour on the sky is also great, but I the light or lack there of is not ideal on the mosque,

The POV and angle give a great Mosquée, powerfull and from a nice architecture.

Hi Chris, interesting capture! Due to the angle of taking the architecture of this mosque looks very dramatic, more so 'cause of the fine contrast with the sky. Indeed graphically pleasing. I don't mind the bus - it adds an urban accent.
Regards from Rotterdam, Bert.

I like the point of view, with the domes and towers appearing to rise to the sky - maybe pointing to heaven? Beautiful ensemble of architecture, and a wonderful sky for the background. Well done!

Good use of silhouettes, Chris, and I like how the combination of wide angle and low shooting perspective emphasizes the upward-reaching architecture.

Well choosen pov, great light and presentation of this mosque Chris.Very interesting place

Hi Chris. It was a good idea to go to the silhouette in these lighting conditions. Too bad about that really dark area of blue sky. You could easily dodge that in Photoshop to balance out the sky. Nice one Chris!

very ncie shot here Chris, I like the angle here and the sky is fantastic, well done

Strange mood on the picture for the sultan's mosque. we can see the 28mm effect, but that's not disturb me. the mosque has a superb architecture.
sam224 (6215) 2005-10-25 3:35
Good shot even if I would have cropped a bit from the bottom in order to avoid the top of the bus passing by :-)
The architecture is charming..
Thanks for sharing!

You have given us a lot of nostaglia shot that today we are unableto have the same shot anymore. I believed that most of your images are now in real are hardly the same or nowhere ealse to be seen.
It's a good way to have all this images reserved for the next generation.

very nice PoV, this Mosque looks beautiful over this perfect sky. Excellent framing, I guess it's quite difficult to shoot such a monument.
Fixfocus (9385) 2005-10-25 4:42
I like the graphism of the silhouette against the blue sky,the limited range of colors is supporting this.Good pov and perspective.

Hi Chris, Good capture of the multicultural of Singapore with this Mosque picture. Good contrast and nice shaded effect. There are some visible noise in the building area. Still, an impressive effect.
devimeuxbe (58557) 2005-10-26 16:29
Nice POV and nice shadow in this picture
joseelias (0) 2005-11-11 9:59
Very nice perspective distortion. It creates an imposing feeling of the building over us, almost crushing. Despite the silhouette many details can be seen in the shade which is nice.

Beautiful shadows and clouds Chris!!
Gosto do jogo dinâmico de luzes, sombras e texturas nesta bela composição.
