Photographer's Note
Another photo from my walk down Orchard Road this past weekend.
You'll find numerous different vendors right on the side walks selling everything from jewelry to kids toys which I've captured here...
This little guy was really entranced with the bubbles!
I desaturated everything in the photo with the exception of the bubbles.
I hope you like it,
~ Dan

Hi Dan,
really nice shot. I have no idea how to desaturate parts of a photo and others not. It's a good idea and your outcome is really nice. I like the concentration on the little boy's face. Good moment!

Hi Dan
Lovely shot, lovely boy, lovely bubbles and cute bubble-making toy.
Love the effects you have done here, saturate the whole picture except the bubbles. Brilliant execution.
Yeah, I love this picture.
By the way, where can I get this toy in Malaysia? Anyone in TE can help me.

Wow I like how you caught this child playing. And the bubbles have a real nice color to them as well. Nice job with the contrast in color and black and white

hi Dan,
very nicely shot. I find the composition very amusing. With your telephoto lens, you must have been standing at a corner far away, having a bird's eye view of things, shooting interesting themes like this.
I have done a desaturation type work before, with the exception of certain things, like this shot here, but this one seems very hard to do with all the bubles. How long did it take you to process this photo? I would say, at least a good 2 hrs, unless you know of a better method than selecting all the bubles individually and inversing.
cheers pal,
Behrang

Absolutely stunning. Such a cute scene with the child playing with the bubble machine. I love it. Nice work with the desaturation as it puts a lot of emphasis on the bubbles. Well done.
May I ask how you accomplished the selection of the bubbles to allow for the desaturation.

This is such an incredible picture. A gorgeous little boy. I love the way you've saturated everything but the bubbles. In fact, I love everything about this picture. So glad I found your site tonight.
