A night on the Singapore Esplanade, a photo from Central Area, Central

Photographer's Note

The Singapore Esplanade is a beautiful place to take a stroll along the waterfront of Marina Bay. On this Saturday night there was a free concert on at the small amphitheatre on the water’s edge by which a local band called The Silence and the Sea played some great homegrown music. This was taken in the 15 minutes leading up to the show while people were milling around and taking their seats. The atmosphere was very warm and balmy at around 30C. It was great to take night photos of the many illuminated sights from this vantage, including the famous Merlion fountain statue, Marina Bay Sands Resort and the skyline of the Singapore CBD sparkling in the background. Just a fun shot to capture the colour and vibrancy of the moment.

Hi Matt,
This is nicely done, great technique and exposure and very clean with no noise I can see. The colours are so well balanced.
I see Singapore as such a clean place, but I am sure it does not lack some colour.

Matthew your shot is very vibrant and such a contrast to your mountain shots! Mad cartoon colour against the black sky is very attractive. I like the blurry people they add another layer of other-world-ness to the place. Never been to Singapore, did you enjoy it? Best regards Rosemary
