Photographer's Note
Returning from Nepal I chose to spend a few days in Singapore to discover this stunning Asian metropolis. At just 140 kilometres north of the equator, the CBD of Singapore City is humid, languid and very lush. The consistent warm temperatures and regular rainfall allow for the growth of sensational tropical gardens and public places are always festooned with beautiful colourful foliage. The big new addition to this booming economic hub is the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort, shown in this photo. The multi-billion dollar attraction combines fine accommodation, shopping malls and large casino at the one location and was opened earlier in 2010. Parts of the precinct are still under construction. For the casual tourist like myself, it is very worthwhile to visit the Sky Park on top of this amazing building for comprehensive views back over the city, with a panorama which not only includes the island of Singapore but also parts of Malaysia and Indonesia. It’s interesting to note that the water seen here was formerly a salt water inlet, but recent innovation has seen this section artificially cut off from the sea and refilled with fresh water to serve as a drinking water reservoir for the city. A brilliant city.

Bonjour Mattthew
Une image de nuit bien réussite. C'est encore très exotique ce style d'architecture, j'ai bien envie d'aller le connaitre!

HI Matt
What a great nocturnal shot. There isn't a thing I could fault. The exposition is spot-on, excellent sharpness and depth. And most of all, those reflections on that silky water...wow. You;d have to be happy with this, congratulations.
Enjoy your evening

Greetings Matthew
wonderfully controlled exposure here Matt, excellent light management especially in keeping the sky black, thus emphasising the contours of the buildings. Love the blazing reflection, great image.

Hi Matt, I see that you took your tripod travelling - must admit that I could never bring myself to cart one around for that occaisional shot when one is required, but you were well rewarded in with this shot. Brilliant certainly describes the city from this vantage point at night! and what a remarkable building that is. cheers, Steve

Hello Matthew. If I recall correctly this three tower building structure supports what looks like a ship on the very top. If I am not mistaken that top ship shape section has a swimming pool on it which looks incredible. Did you get any photos of it?
But besides my inquiring mindset the time exposure here is very well done with details just spot on. Very nice indeed Matthew..and thanks for sharing.

and the very unique figures of buildings are amazing and unusual too to my eyes,
maybe it is best place to talk about romantic things for lovers,
thank you for your excellent shot,

Hi Matthew,
I only just learned about this place on my recent trip to China, seeing the feature of it in the magazine on the air plane and television. It is kind of crazy and amazing at the same time the idea of it. Anyway a great night shot, some area may be tiny bit over exposed, perhaps earlier in the evening would have been better while there still some daylight and the sky a bit more blue than black. Love the soft texture on the refelction of the water. colors is beautiful and natural and good composition.

Hi Matt
this is my first time peering into your gallery of photos, i like what i see.
in this one, the black areas are especially great, very clean, free of noise.
Personally i would have reduced the bright white highlights in post processing a little bit more, but thats just personal preference.
the overall sharpness is excellent, with small details very visable.
its a great photo
cheers

Hi Matt, A beautiful night photograph of this tremendous new structure. The angle and clarity is very good and provides a lot of detail. Good notes too. I am here quite a lot, but never taken such a compelling photo as this one. TFS. Murray.

Matthew
T looks like nothing les than a surfboard in the sky ! A curious juxtasposition of cultures ! A magnificent night picture, without all the orange that cityscapes can often suffer from. Lovely strong reflections, seemingly adding even more support to the buildings behind, with their heavy load.
A great picture..
And fascinating note too..
regards
Martin
