Photographer’s Note
Why another shot taken from my sister-in-law's balcony? Because in Singapore one cannot avoid seeing tall apartment blocks. I often wondered what it must be like to live high up and in visiting my wife's relatives, it has become evident that it can be a pleasant existence.
The apartment where we stayed has a large balcony through which the sea breeze enters the lounge room and keeps us cool. The only other cooling object in the room is a large fan. On the balcony are pots of flowers, including orchids. A resident sunbird visits the flowers every day as it flits from one balcony garden to the another. Here also people dry their clothes- the drying process speeded up by the sea breeze. Another thing my sister-in-law has is an exercise bike. The green foliage in the balcony makes one imagine that one is on the ground floor, surrounded by a garden.
As for safety, most people have a metal lattice curve around the balcony- a necessity if one has children or clumsy adults.
By the way, the land you see on the horizon is Indonesia, possibly Batam Island. The water is the Straits of Singapore.

Hello Klaudio,
The opening between a pair of balconies creates an effective window to enjoy the view of the sea. And what a sea! A dozen ships anchored off coast, ready to load and unload the goods, with a backdrop provided by a curtain of clouds. Perhaps, however, the ultimate drama is provided by the brilliant yellow bannister of the facing balcony. I like even the rough texture on the stucco wall in contrast to the smooth inner wall of the balcony.
Warm regards,
Bulent

dear Klaudio,
very interesting composition and wonderful seascape in it.
left vertical building, right round balcony and distant horizontal sea with lots of ships are artistically composed in one picture.
and the contrast between yellow handrail and blue/green sea is very vivid and shining.
thank you for your nice picture,
Akihisa

Hello Klaudio ,
We don't often see modern architecture , on TE . Even this not really my cup of tea (I like a lot old houses) , your picture is really interesting . The framing is excellent . It 's nice to discover the harbour from this POV . Management of light and sharpness are outstanding .
Congratulations

Hello Klaudio,
This photo is a good illustration for your interesting commentaries about Singaporean modern life and in particular about their residential architecture. Also it is seen that the Straits of Singapore is really a busy waterway. In addition your picture shows that there is a good weather in Singapore sometimes. Very bright and colorful image!
Best regards,

Hallo, Klaudio,
This is the first time I have seen a picture of Singapore which gives a feeling of what it must be like to live there. The yellow curve broken by the white cloth seems to make me feel I am standing there, looking out at the ships and barely noticing the tall building on the left. A very clever shot.

I was enjoying your Malaysia/Singapore series, Klaudio. I like the composition here, the fg is attractive with this yellow curve in pretty light, well exposed... the background is surprising full of ships (actually that's how I remember the waters of Singapore), and good clouds... I wonder how it looks when the building on the left is cropped out... regards, Daniel
