Clarke Quai on a cloudy morning in Singapore.

It was on its banks of the Singapore River that the foundations for modern Singapore were laid more than 150 years ago. Today the Clarke Quai is the fun and food center along the river. It has a number of nice restaurants where you can sit outside

Hello Achim,
The coloured buildings stand out beautifully against that grey sky. A well chosen point of view using the footbridge to draw the viewer into the scene through the lines of lamp posts. Very good sharpness.

Nice luminosity in spite of the cloudy day. I like the vivid colors of the hotel and of the houses at the end of the bridge, that have a good contrast with the other elements of the image.
The perspective of the lampposts is very attractive at sight.

Effective lead into the scene, that appears almost BW in the low light!
Nice details, and the city is clean as always...

An urban space which you emphasized well on this photograph. I like much the balance of the image and these contrasts of colors which titillate the eye agreeably. These lines of candelabra give a good depth to the photograph. Well done Achim.

Hi Achim,

The presence of the persons has an effect of scale. The lamposts are framing well the alley. The point of view takes our eyes tpward the colorful building and toward The Novotel hotel which is giving depth to the photo. The cloudy sky is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

Very different Clarke Quay devoid of any people! This place has a nice collection of old Singapore buildings & modern ones as well. Good perspective, with the orange building of Novotel popping out! Well done!
