I've just returned home from shooting the James Blunt concert, and can't help but post just one shot... I hope you like it (and sorry for the copyright).

"James Blunt (born James Hillier Blount, February 22, 1974) is an English singer-songwriter whose debut album, Back to Bedlam, and single releases — especially the number one hit "You're Beautiful" — brought him to fame in 2005. His style is a mix of pop, rock and folk. Along with vocals, James Blunt performs a variety of instruments, including piano and guitar. He is signed to Linda Perry's American label Custard Records. Blunt won two BRIT Awards and two Ivor Novello Awards, and was nominated for five Grammy Awards in 2006. Blunt subsequently released his second album, All the Lost Souls, in 2007; this album was certified gold within its first week of release. The first single from his second album, "1973", was Blunt's first Global Number 1 in October 2007, beating "You're Beautiful" which peaked at Number 2 in the United World Chart.

Prior to embarking on a career in music, Blunt was an officer in the Life Guards, a regiment of the British Army, and served as a member of the NATO peacekeeping force in Kosovo. While posted to Kosovo, Blunt was introduced to the work of Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) (also known as Doctors without Borders), a humanitarian aid group best known for its emergency medical care in conflict-torn regions. During his musical career, Blunt has supported MSF by holding meet-and-greet auctions at many of his concerts. While Blunt has spent most of his life studying and living in England, his primary residence is now on the Spanish island of Ibiza, where he wrote many of the songs on his second album."*

I hope you like the shot,
- Dan

Greetings
Well, i don't like the singer but like the photo :)
Very good light and sharpness what I guess is even more difficult to achieve in concert conditions...
Cheers and TFS!

Hi Dan
how I wish I could surrender my soul;
Shed the clothes that become my skin;
See the fire that burns within my needing.
how I wish I'd chosen darkness from cold.
how I wish I had screamed out loud,
Instead I've found no meaning.

I like this singer and his songs
Thanks for sharing
Bratislav

I like this photo, but I think the angle is a little too strong. I think that makes the guitar a little too dominating and also makes the face shot a little too much from frog perspective. I would imagine a photo further out and zoomed in would maybe feel a little more like the singer is there for you. I think that approach would have let the viewer seem more of the eyes and make the smile look more natural. I know all of this is persona taste, so take it for what it is - a single persons opinion. Apart from that, I think there are a lot of things to like here, the background is dark which places the focus on the singer and the mic is not interfering with the image while still giving the feeling of an actual show.

Excellent lighting and clarity in this stage shot Dan. Overall a very successful capture due to the wonderful balance of elements and angle of lighting. Only wondering what the yellow thing hanging above his head is? It seems a little distracting to me. Still you deserve full points...for capturing his smile.

Hi Dan
Well done for the lights exposure management.
The singer has an interesting dominant position, the sound is just missing :)
I forgive your stick writing on middle picture.
Cheers

Good shot Dan. Nice dark BG which makes him stand out.
I first heard this chap while watching an episode of "Without a Trace" on the telly. I liked the song so much that I looked it up on the internet and found out who the artist was.

Very nice image, Dan. Good light.
But I have to confess that he is my most hated singer. His voice is just torture for me and I don't like him at all.
All the best,
Nino

Hi, Dan -

Interesting composition, nice strong diagonals and lines, and I like the touch of green light behind his head. I have to agree with Mathias, though, that the guitar dominates too much. I think pulling back a little more might have helped.

Best,
Dan
