Chinese opera together with Greece tragic-comedy and Indian Sanskrit Opera are the three oldest dramatic art forms in the world.
Beyond entertainment, the operas educate people about many facets and levels of the Chinese language, belief system, society, arts and history.
This performer adopted a facial expression that characterizes her art form.

Tu gardais ça au chaud, je suppose que tu as pris cette photo en même que tes anciens posts sur ce sujet?
Une fenêtre et hop, hop, hop, on a quasiment un éclairage de qualité studio.

Chinese opera in Singapore? Are you kidding?
Chinese opera was very popular in northern part of China (Mainly in Beijing). But young generation doesn't care anymore. This form of art is dying in China.
PS: I'm not even sure my critiques to your pictures are welcomed. Give it a try.

Hello Andre. I like the impressive portraits. Each of these portraits is masterful in a classical manner. And the technical perfection is also one of your special characteristics.

I like your photo ... the view, natural colors and theme too.
It is a cliché that in many ways is technically perfect.

Excellen t portrait of this Chinese opera actor. What a make up! I haven't seen any Chinese performance, it seemed to me to strange to observe. Superb capture.

this is an exquisite portrait. I like very much how your tight framing focuses mainly on the eyes and expression of your subject while the surrounding details still give us a good idea of the alluring costume. The textures and the colours are fantastic, they reflect or absorb the light and the shadows in a very atmospheric way. The glint in the actress' eyes is captivating, her character must have a rich and turbulent background and we'll always be intrigued to know whether there's also a reflection of her own personality there. Superb work, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,
