Photographer’s Note
Boat Quay, Singapore - shot from next to the statue of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles.
Old Raffles basically built the foundations of Singapore and made it a major trading centre for the region - Singaporeans have built upon those foundations and built a pretty successful little country.
Anyway, this shot was taken from near the area where the old bloke supposedly first set foot on the island. The area we are looking at was once the trading hub and is now on the edge of theCentral Business District. Where, for my sins, I work.
Shot at 1/5, f2.8, fisheye lens, handheld. Shot in RAW, converted pp, cropped, resized, sharpened and frame added.

Hi Richard,
Beautiful night shot of the quay. The fisheye is quite effective here ... light reflections in the water are great. Well done.
Cheers,
Renier

Hi Richard,
I really like the way you framed the shot leaving the curve as the defining characteritic of this wide-angle shot. I think it works so well because of the near magical reflections that contrast with the sharp detail of the buildings and their contrasting fantastical curves. Truly a mind-bender. Your note is also very informative to me; I never knew that Raffles was connected to Sir Thomas. HLJ, Pat

Hello Richard,
Nice fisheye use.
The picture is very pleasant, with its particular perspective.
Nice job,

Nice night light in Singapor. A lot of my friends are eager to visit there. I have not had chance yet. Still saving money both for lenses and travel... :) Hopefully, next year.
By the way, I am not a fan of fisheye. I am dreaming to great the suoer wide angle one with zoom: 10-22.
Without tripod, this photo is great. You have steady hands.
