Photographer's Note
Just a simple view - this is what ordinary people living in an ordinary apartment (on the 8th floor, to be exact) in one of Moscow's ordinary districts see every day.
Old and modern, good and bad.
... maybe not really so "square", not really so "practical" and not really so "good", but this is just a bit of daily life, of what is definitely far off the usual tourist tracks.
Quite close to this area, by the way.
The photo was taken at around 4PM, the sun was about to set.
One important detail about this photo: I had to take this photo through a thick (double layered) window glass. There was no chance to open the window and take a shot. So I had to press the lens tight to the glass to avoid blur.
The image was shot in RAW and converted to .jpeg.
No special PP: just a bit of brightness adjustment & a bit of sharpening.

Hello Elena!
The picture is very good and I think it's very important to show such things in here: ordinary life! At least for me, I have lots of curiosity about how people in faraway places live, away from the tourist spots! When I travel I always search for them! I love walking, taking buses and subways and so forth... to go to the outskirts of cities!
TFS - Congratulations!
Warmest regards,
Neyvan

Hello Elena,
Maybe not a beautiful view but quite interesting. The scenery is made up almost entirely of cubes of all sizes, from huge to very small. Still, there is also life here, although the people on the ground look very small, completely enclosed by the buildings.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Elena,
Housing problems touch the surely every country on this world. Of course these problems otherwise look in rich countries and otherwise in poor. My country nor is from them free. Every from epochs appeared with other look on the housing, on the comfort of inhabitants and on the appearance of buildings. Nice not always means good and vice versa. Similarly is with new houses. I think however that the man needs places with the soul. And such have often old houses and from the appearance ugly. This nice photo in a way moves this problem.
Best regards from again autumnal Poznan,
Jurek

dear Elena,
we human can enjoy to watch both constructed buildings and natural rocks,,,
I think these two objects are essentially equal, because human itself is mere stone on the earth like other limitless stones.
anyway in my first impression, this is quite like the square bee's nest(honeycomb is hexagonal...), perhaps alien from outer planet may classify these two into same order (buildings and rocks, apartment and honeycomb).
it is a joyful view, and I think these view matches well the back of Godzilla,,,
thank you,
Akihisa

Hi Elena,
First of all, I really appreciate that you include the map references. As a "map freak" I always like to see these. You definitely receive another dimension to the picture, when you can put it in context with the surroundings. But your photo is also very interesting, good colours and a lot of very straight angles.

Hi Elena,
I remember that slogan, it was very successful for a long time and I am really amused that you are using it now in this context. I wonder how this place is looking on a rainy day! A great capture of daily life! TFS!
Warm regards

Hi Elena,
It is interesting to see what ordinary people (like me) see every day, in other parts of the world. It is good to see people there on the image. Despite the conditions you described - shooting through a thick window glass - your picture has a good sharpness.
Thanks for sharing,
MCV
