Photographer’s Note

663-years old church of Saviour on Kovalevo Field. It's standing on the low hill over a small river, in a very wide field with small forests around. Shot taken from the bottom of the hill on which church is standing.

In 1941-1944 fierce battles happened here between Russians and Germans, frontier line was not far away from the church. But now it still looks like it looked in XIV century, as if nothing happened here at all in these long centuries.

maybe could show more of the tree and the building place a bit more to the right

Hello Mr Owl,
Looks like this lovely church is located in a lonely corner of the world!
An effective point of view gives sky as a non-intrusive background, and the colour of the dryu grass matches the church so well...
Fine details in the architecture!

Nice soft colours. Nice sure about the compsotion though. Maybe you should have zoomed a bit to exclude the tree to the right.

Excellent shot here! The grassy field with it's varying textures and lines provides a great buildup for the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The angle you show this church from is great giving us a nice sense of the size and depth of the building.

Вот даже не пойму какой стиль церквей мне нравится больше:Петровский или этот, византийский.Наверное больше первый.

Very interesting shades of browns in this photo, a strong sense of desolation too. Guess that's what photography is all about, sending out impressions.
