Photographer’s Note
I took this picture at Donskoi Cemetery.
In the mid-18th century the necropolis of the Donskoi Monastery became the cemetery in which Moscow aristocrats were buried. Many gravestones were made by outstanding sculptors, among them Ivan Martos, Vassily Demut-Malinovsky and Ivan Vitali. Participants in the 1819 Patriotic War, Decembrists, philosopher Pyotr Chaadayev, writers Kheraskov, Sumarokov and Odoyevsky, painter Vassily Perov, scientists Vassily Klyuchevsky and Nikolai Zhukovsky, architect Osip Bove are buried in this cemetery.

Very deep feelings comes from this picture esp;ecially with the snow on the hands and eyes.

Très belle photo ! La neige sur les yeux (comme un bandeau) donne une dimension dramatique énorme à la photo. j'aime beaucoup l'angle de prise de vue. Sans doute aurais-je opté pour le focus sur le visage. Mais félicitations tout de même.
