Photographer’s Note
In year 988, when christianisation of Russia started, old pagan sanctuaries was destroyed and christian churches erected on its places. Near Novgorod was a sanctuary of ancient god of thunder Perun, and in year 995 on its place was built wooden church. In year 1226 small stone church was built here.
Its a smallest church in Novgorod region, and quite ancient also.
