Photographer’s Note
The Church of the Resurrection in St. Petersburg - more commonly known as the Church of the Spilled Blood as it was built on the site where Tsar Alexander II was assasinated in 1881.
Construction on the church started in 1883 and it was finally completed 24 years later in 1907 so this year marks it's 100th anniversary. The inside is filled with superb mosaics and is absolutely breath-taking.

Richard: great POV and compo - in fact, it's the compo that really catapults this shot to way above-average. nice. c

This is a great shot I love the unconventional angle, it is too easy to see a place for the first time and proceed to take pictures that are identical to the ones you've seen in tourist books, this is totally different and much more eye catching :)
