Repose of the Virgin, a photo from Saint Petersburg, Northwest

Photographer's Note

Cathedral of the Repose of the Virgin in Uspensky Monastery in Old Ladoga. Built in the middle of XII century, according to the heraldry on its walls, by the Prince Rostislav or Prince Svyatopolk. Pure example of Novgorodian style of medieval Russian architecture - white, with small amount of details, and quite Romanic in outlook. Fresqoes inside also comes from XII century, which is very rare thing.
Generally, such churches shows a great difference from what is usual comes to mind when someone thinks about Russian churches - St Basil in Moscow or Spilled Blood in St-Petersburg, which are ovewhelmed with details

Zdravstvuy Uhu. Beauty through simlicity. Clean lines, modest colour and your PoV all combine tomake this a charming place- with, as your note indicates,a feast for the eyes inside.Dramatic blue sky makes the church stand out clearly. Well done. Ochen harosho. Klaudio.

Hello Uhu,

Good clear image with good exposure, and very nice composition. I like color tone of church and snow with shade.
And then, it should be nessasary to crop a bit blue sky of top on the entire balance, yet it's my taste.
Anyway, excellent work!

Regarding your name choice, I expected to see...night views!

Good shot,It is the first time that I see a church yellowish.
Very good color, contrast and definition.

Хорошая композиция, деревья как стражницы по бокам, цвета... Я люблю желтый и синий вместе... но здесь, по-моему, многовато контраста (хотя может и в самый раз, тут больше настроение сказывается на оценке)
