Photographer’s Note
Bolshoy Catherine Palace is a remarkable example of Russian baroque architecture. The Catherine Palace is the summer residence of the Russian tsars, located in the town of Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo – old name), 25 km south of St. Petersburg,.
The existing palace was built between 1744 and 1756. The leading role in design of the palace belongs to Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli.
The palace was quite impressive with its size, powerful spatial dynamics and picturesque decoration in the style of the Russian Baroque. The wide, light blue ribbon of the palace with its snow-white columns and gilt ornament looked quite festive. The northern wing was topped by the five golden domes of the Palace Chapel (you can see that).
Hope you like that.

Привет Татьяна!
Not long ago in this palace was opened the famous "Yantarnaya Komnata" (amber room). It's wonderful thing. It looks as a wall covered a fruit-drop. And it shines at sun rays.

Hi Tanya,
It's a pity you had not your Canon when you captured this picture. Technical quality of the scan is not good and probably hides much of the original photo's beauty. Anyway, it's apparent that the place is nice and you comosed the shot very well.
Thanks,
Marek

Hello Tatiana,
Nice composition. The pic seems to be overexposed on the walls of the building and clarity is less. But a nice one.

Hi Tatiana
What a wonderful and colorful castle.
Cool angle of capturing it and nicely to have the partial tree to "frame"up the shot.
Unfortunately the image is not sharp.
Cheers and good day. Eric Lai

This shot is really interesting. Wonderful colours well mixed and good contrast of the golden domes with the blue sky. Unfortunately the pciture lacks of sharpness, obviously due to the scanner.
But well done!

Hi Tatiana,
I have been to St.Petersburg many times, but I have never been to Tsarskoye Selo.
Scanning always is a problem, I think the original one is much better.
Thanks.

Hello Tatiana, good shot. Nice composition of this interesting building. I feel it's a little soft in focus and a little overexposed on the whites. Nice work, well done.

Hello Tanya,
What a fantastic building. Must be awesome to see it in reality.
The image is well composed and the colors are great. It is a pity that the quality is so low. Certainly a scan ?

Hi Tatiana,
This is a really nice palace and thanks to the note, I can appreciate its history. It could be more expansive to maintain this kind of building.

Jean-Louis
