Photographer's Note

The Malka River’s origins are on the northern slopes of Mount Elbrus. From its glaciers, small streams flow down to the Kizilkol, Birdzhalisu, Sultantarisu, Karanaysu and other rivers, which flow together at the Kayaeshik Pass (from were this picture was taken) to make the Malka River seen in the picture. At this site, hard rocks come to the surface, so the river runway is stepped with four waterfalls of heights from 20 to 40 m. One of them (28 m) is seen in the picture.
