Newly-built church in the city of Kirov, about 1,000km east of Moscow. The church is located in a neighbourhood fairly far from the Vyatka river and centre. Kirov has about a dozen other churches, and two monasteries. It's also one of few cities still known by its Soviet name. Every five-ten years, there is a referendum to rename it into Vyatka, but the population says no each time. People on a Transsiberian trip will pass through Kirov.

This is a well composed shot of this beautiful church. The vertical format was a good choice here giving us a good sense of depth while allowing us to see close up detail. The lighting and colors are great as is the photo's sharpness.
