Photographer’s Note
Scarlet Sails are one of the most spectacular summer event in St-Petersburg - it's a celebration of the end of the school years for thousands of young guys and girls.
During the night after the end of the school and start of the new life there are celebration, with fireworks, pop concerts on Palace Square, special vessel with scarlet sails cruising the Neva and fireworks. This tradition started in 1967, and year after year it becomes more and more epic event.
Fireworks in this year were kind of special ones, too.
***
Terrible crouds, former schoolkids, guys in their 30-s and 40-s who are interested in teenage girls which in this special day with the end of the school already become - how to say - legal, yeah?, tourists, onlookers of all ages are there, on Neva ambankments, watching the show.
I also went there and took some photos of the fireworks - take into the account that I had to take camera high in the sky and make a photos from the stretched hands - thus quality of the shot are not great, I agree.

Hello Vlad,
Superb capture of the fireworks the silhouettes of viewers' heads in the foreground set against the majestic Hermitage bathed in light in the background. Warm regards,
