Photographer’s Note

Last shot from St. Petersberg. Just before sunset at the Neva delta, Kirovsky Island. The slow flowing secondary streams of the delta were still solidly frozen in early April, ginving the ice fishers a last chance to pratice their sport.

Questa luce rossa mi piace, so che è molto vicina alla luce reale, bella scena! Ambientazione fredda ben rappresentata, la sovraesposizione del regala a questa immagine un'idea ancora più "ghiacciata"!

Strange light with the sharp red glow. Strange fishing on a surface not like a lake at all. Good natural framing. Well done.

Hi Richard, a very old photograph but, very realistic, the red winter sun colour here the photo excellent, the fishers are very calm and peaceful. Nice compostion, and good depth, good job!

Another nice one to finish off your St Petersburg series, Richard. The sight of the ice fishers on the solidly frozen stream in April really speaks "cold". Good use of the foreground trees to frame the scene, nice rendition of the spring light, and there's even a bit of symmetry in the mens' poses (but then again how many ways to "pose" are there for an ice fisher anyway ;-). Nice one.
