Photographer’s Note
Here are the Church of Ascension of Our Lord in Kolomenskoe in Moscow.
It was built by the Italian and Russian architects in year 1532, by the order of Great Prince Vasily III, to celebrate the birth of bhis long-awaited heir - infant named Ivan.
This boy later become first Great Prince who received the title Tzar (meaning Caesar, Kaiser, Emperor in Russian) and also become world-famous as Ivan the Terrible.
***
This church is considered to be one of the most interesting buildings in Moscow, but as I was there, snowstorm reached it's height, and all was literally white around, with swirling snow and strong wind.
I tried to make some photos of the place - are they good or not - it's for you to decide, viewers!

Thanks again for posting rare pictures from Russia!
Ivan the Terrible!!!
It is obvious that you captured under snowstorm. Very high church with impressive architecture! I think that there are many entrances for specific purposes like weather for example!
Best regards,
Athanasios.

Hello Uhu,
I think this church is a lot larger than it looks in your photo.
There is someone at the foot of the left hand stairway going up to the church, gives me this idea, how small he/she looks.
Very good photo of this fine architecture.
You made a very good note with history on this church.
Thanks for showing.
