This is my second photo from the Ostrich farm.
You see the African Black Ostrich.
Special thanks to Rosemary for an idea.
The Ostrich or Common Ostrich is either one or two species of large flightless birds native to Africa. Some analyses indicate that the Somali Ostrich may be better considered a full species separate from the Common Ostrich, but most taxonomists consider it to be a subspecies.
The ostrich shares the order Struthioniformes with the kiwis, emus, rheas, and cassowaries. It is distinctive in its appearance, with a long neck and legs, and can run at up to about 70 km/h (43 mph)!!!! , the fastest land speed of any bird. (from Wikipedia)

very nice the view as the capture of the frrding from so close distance of the ostrich,in the farm. Excellent the light and the colour management as the clarity of the scene.Well done.

Ciao e buona domenica

What perfect timing :) and I am amazed that you captured th so clearly, as I have seen how fast these birds move. I suppose he was happy to pose when there was a treat for him. Great shot, this has brought a smile to my face.
All the best

Your ostrich look a whole lot more friendly than the ones around Namibia Serghei! Perhaps its the very act of feeding him apple that makes him so agreeable... cute even ;) I wonder if he eats stones like the ones in Africa do? Here's an interesting fact: An adult ostrich carries about 2.2 pounds (1 kilogram) of stones in its gizzard (second stomach). Since ostriches do not have teeth, they eat stones which help to grind their food when it reaches the gizzard.
This is a lovely shot!
Have a good evening Rosemary

A wonderful follow up on the previous ostrich picture. A great animated shot you captured on this one, with the ostrich stretching out for a treat. Great concept indeed, and your timing was just right to catch it with its mouth agape! I like how this angles in from both sides of the frame, converging to a point just before "impact." :) Man meets nature, who won this battle...you still have all of your fingers in tact? hehe Bright and detailed, this turned out really well and shows us something a little of the beaten track. Very well done my friend. Have a great day ahead.
Best regards from the U.S.,

haha...I was going to pick your newest shot from Spain, but then I noticed this laughing smiling Ostrich! And how on earth could I resist it.
its like you trained the Ostrich to do this! How many takes it you get? haha
this photo has YOUR PERSONALITY!!! love it

You have captured the funny looking bird very well indeed. The head is well placed against the sky and I like the feeding hand coming from the corner.
A super shot that makes me smile!
Kind Regards, Ann
