I'm not sure, how to express this properly, but in Old Ladoga one can feel it - the tranquility of living in a country-side.
Here are the photo of Church of St-John the Baptist on Malyshev Hill in Old Ladoga, year 1695 made.

Zdravstvuy Uhu. If it wasn't for the red scaffolding, it would appear as if the church is an organic entity, growing out of the Russian soil and competing with the trees. Very harmonious setting and as you said, tranquil. Regards. Klaudio.
