| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
There is such a type of populated localities in Russia (and in most post-Soviet countries, because this terminology is inherited from our sweet socialist past) - "urban-type settlement".
This is already not a village (bigger than a common village and usually has houses with several storeys and many apartments), but yet not a town (usually smaller than towns and has less cultural, industrial and commercial objects).
This picture was taken in Voznesenye, the farthest such settlement in Leningrad region, about 380 kilometers from St Petersburg. A cow at a lawn in front of a large building illustrates well this term. |

Hello Igor ,
I like a lot this picture . This is not a great architecture , but a kind of buildings where many people lives in . The cow eating the thick grass is a good contrast with the modern houses .
Very good framing .
Regards
Denis
Hi Igor,
For urban citizen like me, it is very unusual to see a cow in the city.
Good POV.
Greetings
Guy
A very nice shot. typical soviet-buildings, cars and then suddenly a cow! The scene is well captured. Thanks for posting.
Regards
Patrick
