St-Petersburg is get used to deluges, in 305 years of it's history there were 302 deluges, including two great ones - in 1825 and 1924. Thus shores of the rivers and channels are granite-clad, hundreds of years of work ended in hundreds of kilometers of granite embankments, average height of which is 4 meters.
Embankments are like promenades, you can walk along Neva River by 15 kilometers along one of the longest one.

nice shot from these embankments that now are used as promenades.I like the perspective and the depth that created from the POV.Excellent the colors and the light as your informative note.
