Photographer’s Note
Lake Ladoga is a freshwater lake, located on the North-West of Russia, between St-Petersburg area and Karelia.
Ladoga is the biggest lake in Europe, and 14-th biggest lake in the world. It's size are 219 on 83 kilometers, it house 660 islands and is filled by 3 500 rivers.
There are 48 species of fish living in the lake, and it has it's own subspecies of Ringed Seal - Ladoga Seal.
It's a deep lake, with maximum depth 230 meters; in WW II naval battles happened here between Finland and Russia.

Hi Uhu, Impressive photo, it looks like a sea. i am curious if it is somehow used for tourists. Some years ago I was in Mustvee, on the Peipus Lake - Чудско-Псковское озеро (Chudskoe-Pskovskoe), the fifths in Europe- - and it was nothing there - no hotels, no restaurants, boats, beaches, ships, water desert. Here I can see ship.
