I happened to find myself in Saint-Petersburg for a week. Snowy, white and cold. I didn't mean to - I'm more of a sun person - but I sort of fell in love with the city. Oops!
Saint-Petersburg on the Neva River is Russia's most European city. Northern, arty and vibrant.
The Saint Petersburg Mint was a logical outcome of the transfer of the Russian capital to the city on the Neva. It was established by Peter the Great in 1724 inside the Peter and Paul Fortress as one of the most advanced coin manufacturers in Europe.
One of the oldest industrial enterprises in Saint Petersburg, it is still functioning today.

Kia ora Benny,
I like the perspective here, the snow-lined sidewalks & contrasting coloured buildinds leading pass the smokestack to the building at the end. Well composed. Cheers, Neil

Hi Benny - Another super shot from your St Petersburg trip. You made the best out of the cold snowy conditions and in all the shots have capitalised on the graphic qualities that the snow has afforded you. This is a super composition. Good square crop which is ideal for the strong perspective. Best regards Rosemary

Nice attractive photo, pleasantly composed and descriptive. Original subject. So clean! One wonder if it's the same for the rest of the city. Regards, Claude.

I come back on your last posts I missed. This one also is nice with the red and yellow colors well transmitted by contrast against the white snow and sky.
The square crop is really working with a balanced composition at the end.

I have to give you a 10 out of 10 for this subject!
how many people go to Saint-Petersburg and take a photo like this one!
I'm very glad that you did.
glad you were able to sneak in the red wall on the right too, just for a smart color contrast.
love the tall stack, and the rustic yellow buildings.

Hi Benny. Compositionally a strong image with its highly visible structures and colours all of which are accentusted by the winter light and snow. Great depth and lines leading to a vanishing point. Best wishes. Klaudio.

you've created a very elegant and charming composition with a great orchestration of perspectives and colours that define the quiet cityscape in a most attractive way. You are presenting a fascinating aspect of the place and of the cold and snowy conditions. I love the interaction of perspectives that leads us to go over the scenery again and again. The interaction of warm colours and grey tones is intriguing and lovely. The depth and the atmosphere are captivating. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
