Façade, a photo from Saint Petersburg, Northwest

Photographer's Note

St. Petersburg was built in a short time, to compete with major European cities of the time, like Paris, Rome and Amsterdam. The result was a very successfull reflection of the ambitions of tzar Peter the Great. Baroque spirit can be seen everywhere in the details of the city with its all-power.

A friend of mine who is a Paris fan quotes this sentence after his visit to the city: "This one surpasses Paris in all aspects: St Petersburg is bigger and more beautiful than Paris"

I cannot comment on this, i haven't seen Paris yet.

Hi Deniz,
I must say it is quite creative and original cropping here but I like it a lot! Very classy composition taken with superb attention on light and details. Great image! TFS.

I cannot comment your friend opinion - I was in Paris twice during last years but I have never been in Saint Petersburg....

These facade is taken, with a very high quality and sharpness.
I know no difference between the two cities, I am no traveller

o kadar iyi crop edilmiş ki bir an SP mi? gercekten mi? neredeydi? önünden geçtim mi? dedim. büyük ihtimal en yakın lavaboyu aramak ile mesguldum. Sol ve sağ pencerelerin benzer olmaması ve hatunun hımm bu eski pencereyi değiştirmek gerek benimle uyumsuz bakışı hoş olmuş.
bytw Venedik'ten inspired kare yok sadece hayran hayran seyredilen vitrinler ve labirent sokak anıları var...

Bu ne güzel bir kare böyle, benim zamanımında bu tür pencerelerin ardından belirip hemen de yokalacak kızları beklerdik direk diplerinde.
Bu tür resimleri mezarlık resimlerine tercih ederim by the way :-))
Bu arada benim Ayasofya'nın damından çektiğim kareyi gördün mü ?
