This is one of the side wings of Smolny Cathedral, photo taken at the same time as the previous one, on a white night. It was a little drizzly, too. I liked the fact that those two women got into the shot with their red umbrella to brighten up the pale colors around.

Hi Jenna,
I like the touch of the colour too, not only for the colour, but also how it somehow humanises the scene and the imposing building. When I see these kinds of building, I think of how awestruck the locals must have been to see these giant monuments appear, so thats a nice little modern human touch.
I will never stop admiring this style of architecture!
