The Nakhimov Naval School is on the embankment of the Neva river, right across the street from the famous Russian cruiser, Aurora. The construction of this building started in 1903, but its architectural features resemble the style of the beginning of 18th century, including some decoration details of Baroque style.

A very imposing building, and but for your note, I would have thought it to be much older. As you say, the Baroque touches do this. Its very striking in colour against the sky, and you chose a great POV to show us the depth and width of this fine place.
Nice soft sky too. Thanks for sharing.
All the best

I took pictures of this building too, only at blue hour:) Nice image, sharp and bright, with excellent light despite the overcast sky. Well done!

Interesting and attractive picture!
In spite of the cloudy sky, you managed light quite well! Sharpness and colors also pleased me a lot! I enjoyed the chosen pov and the composition too! Maybe, cut off a bit of the sky and include a bit more of the street (you probably did that for some reason).
TFS - congrats,
Best regards and greetings from Brazil,

Beautiful building, it's somewhat simple, but elegant. I really like the two tone effect, especially with the combination of colors. Good choice to shoot from this angle, it gives more dimension and form. Even though it's such an overcast day, you've done well to expose with plenty of light and detail. It's a very minor aspect here, but I love the red doors, they add a nice subtle addition of color and arched design to the largely vertical nature of the building. Well done. Have a great weekend.
