Photographer’s Note
Entrance to the church of St Vasily of Caesarea in Old Ladoga. Church is built in XVII century, but outlook of this entrance is quite archaic, more like something made in XIII-XIV century. Church itself is standing in a lonely and empty place, at the side of small cemetery; this place all the time seemed to be very special to me.

Hi Owl,
I became slowly boring with my comments on old Russian architecture and your beautiful pictures... but now I cannot resist to praise again this one: the proportions of the door and the three(-four?) fold arch is magnificent, the white of the walls continues onto the white of the snow. There are no other colours: just the brownish wooden door. Congratulations! Pal
