Photographer’s Note
Ancient city Pskov on the uttermost North-West of Russia first mentioned in chronicles in IX century; on the shot is the oldest part of its fortifications, wall of the citadel, named Persi, that in Old-Russian means "The Chest". Made in XIV century.
Wall is about 14 meters high, when it was build it was much higher, more than 20 meters, now it deepened into the earth.
Behind it the Trinity Cathedral (XVII century) and it's bell-tower (XVIII century).
***
I had to split this shot from two separate ones, so technically it's not great, I know this.

Hallo from winterly Germany!
An impressive and most interesting and worth seeing fortification. The church buildings are a quite contrast to the quarrystone walls in the foreground. This must be a special place.
Qualitiy mustn't always be perfect - I think - when one can show something interesting!
Greetings - and Happy Easter!
Frank
