Photographer’s Note

Church of Our lady Sovereign in Gdov. Fortress Gdov was founded by Pskov merchant's republic in 1411 to proteсt its northern borders from the Teutonic Order knights. Fortress now just a circle of ruined walls on a top of the hill, but church is restored very good. To the left and right of its entrance are really very ancient crosses. Inside its white and very simple in design.

Good to see a photo from Russia from where we dont see too many, and well..this is a very interesting picture! The dome is typical Russian. Must be one of the Russian Orthodox Churches, right? Is there any reason why you did not stand right in front of the church and clicked a straight shot? Am intrigued by the greenery around it too.

Very nice photo of this excellent church. Your angle is nice giving the building nice depth and detail. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and DOF. Your composition is fine using the trees to frame the shot.

Nice photo. The church is very beautiful. Unfortunately, I think the sun was not at the best angle and the bottom of the sky looks burnt out as a result. But still, it is nice.
