Novgorod Highlighted, a photo from Novgorod, Northwest

Photographer's Note

During my 10 day trip to St. Petersburg, i decided to pay a one day trip to the famous medieval city of Novgorod, which is a UNESCO heritage site. Despite the cold (less then 10 degrees), rainy and windy August weather, it was a great decision and a life time experience. The photo was taken during a rare sunshine through the clouds. Here you can see St. Sophia Cathedral with its onion domes. The photo was taken from the top of the oldest bell tower in Russia.

A good high pov with excellent sharpness and punchy light contrasts. Good warm vs cold colour contrasts between the yellow and blue. I saw a few of these Russian Orthodox Churches in the Russian far east back in 2007 when I was there. Tfs!

Despite what for me is perhaps a little too enthusiastic pp work on the dramatic contrast, this is an impressive shot. The people on the wet street give an added point of focus.

Bu ışığa bir ömür verilir işte...Hay Allah,nasıl kaçırmışım...Sembollerin birbirini kesmemiş olmasıyla,ışığıyla iyi iş çıkarmışsın Deniz...Bir şey duymuştum...Yağmurlu havalarda ISOnun,200 ve bir derece yukarısı,yağmurdan dolayı ortaya çıkan fluluğu ortadan kaybediyormuş...Bilmem fikrin var mıdır...Ha fotoğrafını dahil etmiyorum buna bilesin denocum :)

thanks for the welcome back!
this is a really cool scene, it captured my attention right away.
I know some people may not like the 'look' of the photo, but not me. It truly stands out and packs a visual punch.
the cloudy atmosphere is perfect as it sets the tone.
and the golden dome acts like a beacon in the dark of night as a focal point.
and of course the POV makes it all happen.
