Congratulation Sochi for the Winter Olympic 2014

extract from my diary (15-30th Aug. 1981):
After a 26 hour from Frankfurt via Kiew we arrived at the airport of Adler near Sochi.
Sochi is a town about a length of 145km along the coast with a lot of hospitals and clinic.
Visit of the Mount Achun, 663m, beautiful view along the coast line.
Strolling in the Park of Life, where Juri Gagarin has plant a Mangolia tree
Helicopter flight to the tea farms near Dragony, drinking tea from a Samuwar, eating Ananas-cucumber Jam.
Boat trip to Suchumi (today Georgia ) visting a monkey zoo.

This picture shows a building in the center of Sochi.
Scanned from a negative of a pocket camera (and a lot of work ...)

Winter Olympic 2014: hopefully I will have the chance to visit once more the beauty at the Black Sea.

das ist eine ja geradezu historische Widmung. Gut ausgegraben und für eine Pocket von guter Qualität. Der Affenzoo ist mit Sicherheit 2014 auch in Sochi vorhanden ;-)

Hallo Achim. Ich mußte erst staunen über Dein ungewöhnliches Photo. Nun ist mir aber der Zusammenhang klar, - auch Dank Deiner Hintergrundinformationen. Das Photo ist auf gewisse Weise alt und doch authentisch aktuell. Ein schöner Beitrag. viele Grüße, Wolfgang.

Perfect time Achim, well done, watching to some images of Sochi I've discovered that it's a true beautiful place for holidays, and this garden and the building in Greek-like style are beautiful, compliments.

I think this must be the first picture I've seen of Sochi (but surely it won't be the last, given the news about the Olympics). This neo-classical building in the picture is not what I expected for a resort town, but it's actually much nicer than I expected. Thanks for sharing!

I want also to send congratulations to Sochi, but also to you for this great architecture shot. Simple but good composition, the positioning of the building in the centre of the frame, works really well.
