The Last Farm before the Mountain Pass, a photo from Kabard-Balkaria, North Caucasus

Photographer's Note

There were several sheep and stud farms on our way up along the Kishliksu Stream to a mountain pass between the valleys of Cherek Besengiyskiy and Chegem rivers. This farm was the last one before the pass. We expected to get some information about the road, but we found nobody there. The farmers with the sheep were away on the pastures. Only these horses were grazing near the farm.

In the picture you can see a spur of the Rocky Ridge at the right, the pass, which we had to mount, at the left, and our road above the farm.

Hello Sergiy,

This is another spectacular bucolic scene from the North Caucuses. The low lying clouds make the photo very special, and the horses add both life and color. The vertical format is ideal here.

On another note, is it your daughter who was in Virginia, during the summer? I'm afraid I lost the email.

Hi Sergiy,

It is interesting that the horses come so high. in tatra we only sheep, and not so high. I like such highmountains meadow, with a broad view and no precipies.

What a lovely landscape perhaps a little rough, what place for a good stroll middle of the nature.

The summit is the clouds creates a near the sky feeling!
The wild flowers make a fine foreground, leading up to the horses that seem to be grazing...
This is a fine rural scene, where the nature tells the story of a significant altitude!

A superb composition in a wonderful landscape, I love the POV chosen on the farm and these horses in the foreground, a wonderful rocky summit shrouded in clouds, the effect is stunning.
