Photographer’s Note
The lake Surguba is one of the numerous lakes in Karelia. It is located northwards of Petrozovodsk. It is connected to the lake Ukshezero by a shallow channel. The average depth of the lake is 11 metres, the maximum depth is 17 metres. Its water is clear and clean and used as drinking water by the locals. Surguba abounds in fish - there are about twenty kinds of fish including bream, perch and pike.
