Visiting this very interesting museum because its said that "original Siberian folk architecture attracts particular attention of tourists" (quite true) of old wooden houses I saw this woman guardian quite concentrated choosing music, because of the light she reminded me some old Dutch painting or French like La Tour, (my imagination goes very high sometimes)
The Taltsy Museum of Wooden Architecture (in open air)
Situated on the way from Irkutsk to Lake Baikal, the Museum is opened every day from 10.00 to 16.00 in winter, from 10.00 to 18.00 in summer.
During the summer, there are a cafe and antique shop work on the territory of the museum.
Architectural-ethnographic museum "Taltsy" is a unique storage of history and culture of the peoples of Eastern Siberia. The museum is located in a picturesque place on the right bank of the Angara River about 67 hectares. It is composed of more than 40 historical and architectural monuments and 8000 exhibits of great historical value. The decision to build the museum was taken on January, 9, 1966. Having become a branch of the Irkutsk State United Museum, it received its first visitors in 1980.

You're capturing well this scene by a natural atmosphere, gentle tone and excellent clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the spectacle in which the woman is listening the music sitting on the chair in the room of this museum. It's comfortable and is kind to eyes for wooden structure and green nature which is in sight through a window. So, through a photograph, you seem to have asked the ideal of the way of life which lives together with the nature which human should needs essentially to us familiar to machine civilization, although Mongolian's photograph is also so.

Hello Maria - I too love this light and it is what makes this shot stand heads and shoulders above many others. A quiet and intimate study with the soft colours and ambient light so beautifully managed. Fine work. Warm regards Rosemary

The outside light gave a unique light on the lady sit there, Maria.
with the relative dark surrounding, you had managed a good contrast and fine scene.
Green veg.'s shown well through the window.
Buen fin de semana,

Great timely shot - there's always something fun about catching people unaware! She is caught having a break in such a relax casual manner, a nice candid shot so well depicted right at the top of the action. I guess nobody can blame her as she deserves the much needed rest and she's got the right idea during this weather and she does look nice and comfy in there. Excellent mood and sublime exposure and colours to this one and the composition works so well with the surroundings she's in. This is an excellent observational capture, a kind of dreamy softness momentarily. My congrats, Congrats

Beautiful documentation of the daily life of people! Modern technology seems to be everywhere. The last time I visited my old country, the Philippines, in 2007 I saw cell phone towers in the middle of isolated jungles. I like the pov and it has good lighting. Well done, tfs.

a very atmospheric, interesting and captivating picture, a very natural and intimate portrait. The lady looks very comfortable in that seat by the window, immersed in the music she loves and the thoughts and feelings it evokes. You've turned the challenging lighting conditions into a great advanage for the creation of a special intimate atmosphere. The light coming in only from the window is diffused on the lady and the area around her in a most gentle way. You've achieved great definition both in the interior and the outside view. Great work, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,

A very good photo, with exquisite and delicate interplay of the shadows and soft light from the window. I find the beauty of the photo seems to be at odds with the humdrum nature of the subject - just an attendant listening to a music player - but it's a wonderful comment on modern life and a great capture. I once travelled on the Trans Siberian railway, nearly 40 years ago, and remember passing through Irkutsk. Thanks for your interesting note.

I really enjoy looking at your captures. This one struck me as being very sensitive and well done!

A Dutch painting, exactly! That light is magical and bestows a really lovely sense to the scene, this could be easily the work of a great master of the 18th century. Her pose is great too, as she sits in the window, again in her own little world and you have been very sensitive to that moment. Fantastic handling of the light and a classic composition. What a beautiful series this is.
All the best
