About the Taltsi Open Air Museum
See last post
It shows how the museum is organized, the wooden house with the windows is very old and typical from Siberia (there are still many of them), built without nails
The left construction is new, made to complete the missing part of the old one, with time the wooden will have the same color
The kind of kiosk at the far right is for tourists to rest and enjoy the place while drinking, eating
Note: A so interesting place, offering different and attractive ways to visit it, was almost empty
I believe the reason is that its location, being near the route between Irkutsk and Baikal Lake, people rush to arrive at them with no time to stop

I see we are neighbors today on Trekearth, but far apart photographic subjects — you in Siberia, and I in Egypt. We would describe these structures as "log cabins," and I can imagine how common they must have been in Siberia. They provide very good insulation against the bone chilling cold, and the forests must be endless.

interessante quella nota che parla della tipica costruzione senza chiodi, non lo sapevo.
L'architettura è comunque bella nella sua semplicità.
Mi sembra una bella condivisione, da cui ho appreso cose nuove.

This is a very pretty open air museum. It reminds me of trading posts of northwest America.

You made a good assumption about the reason why the place wasrelatively empty, I found that reason is know all over the world.
The timber built two huts connected are well placed on pic. space, and in fine contrast to blue and green.

I just opened your latest excellent photo, but I'll go through all which I missed during last few weeks. Nice view up to small wooden museum house. I'm sure very interesting place.

These are beautiful buildings, although from different times and in slightly different styles. The main buildings is proof of excellent craftmanship. The small steps leading up the grassy hillside create a nice foregrund. The fine weather has given you superb colours.

The colors and textures of your shot are really excellent, it seems to have an almost 3D texture to it! The diamond design of the gates on the left really draw my eye in too. The view you chose adds excellent depth to the scene too, as the eye climbs those stairs to the main building> Nicely done!

Ciao buona domenica e buona settimana

Simple, cute, full of local flavour, tradition and character - spirit of the building! Love the perspective and viewpoint you're smart to include the wooden ladder as it directs viewer to peek thru' deeper to the imposing structures. The vibrant colours look so fresh - i love the lively true green- to blue sky ensuring focus is held there firmly and the bit of foliage is essential framing the backdrop enhancing the depth. Your notes helps us to appreciate this simple but humble looking buildings. Lovely catch, great light and overall eye catching contrast. Excellent capture and tfs. Have a great day.

When thinking Russia, the onion domed churches come to mind. This picture is different. With blue sky and green grass, it's very enjoyable.

Hola Maria querida,
a simple, accurate, interesting and delightful presentation, I like very much the upward point of view, the inclusion of the ladder and the division of the frame in three layers. Textures and colours are superb, so natural and vivid. The warm light is very agreeable and the same is true for the shade. The rustic constructions look elegant and attractive in this lovely environment. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,
PS Tu ciudad Azul debe ser muy bonita. Tienes algunas fotos de ella?

The center building, built of wood logs, appears a bit rough but fortunately is decorated of fancy windows for a paradoxical attractive look!
The lining up of incongruous construction styles appears perfectly well balanced by the rustic stairway.
So much exoticism up there!!

Hi Maria, Awesome perspective with well managed light. Great sharpness and details which the texture of the building is well shown. Splendid colours with warmth. The ladder on the slope is for climbing up to the museum...what a special and original way to get to the museum. Thank for sharing

Me gusta
Disfruta de un buen dia.
Saludos muy cordiales.

Fine view of the rustic all wood Taltsi Museum. I am attracted to the older cabin's wood art shutters, and the newer structure's concentric diamond pattern.
Worthy of a stop, I am certain.
Thanks for sharing,

Carpenters of old are very creative and had a lot of imagination when creating their masterpiece of a building. I like the designs. Nicely captured with good details. Well done, tfs.

I thought I had already commented on this picture...but apparently not!? Oops. Anyway, it's a lovely ensemble of wood works. I like how this view and composition presents three different styles, each one with a different purpose, but all working together in harmony for a beautiful display. The lower point of view lets our eyes take that short walk up the hill to admire this craftsmanship.
No nails in the construction, did they just use glue?? :) The amount of tourists really must be sparse, as the place designed for them is the smallest one here. Plenty of room for yourself to sit and relax though, yeah? Nice and bright, the details and colors are super. Very well presented, promoting the tourism yourself with this one. :) Enjoy the rest of the evening. Take it easy.
Cheers from the red, white and blue,
