The Taltsy Museum of Wooden Architecture (in open air)
Architectural-ethnographic museum "Taltsy" is a unique storage of history and culture of the peoples of Eastern Siberia. The museum is located in a picturesque place on the right bank of the Angara River in about 67 hectares
It is composed of more than 40 historical and architectural monuments and 8000 exhibits of great historical value. The decision to build the museum was taken on January, 9, 1966. Having become a branch of the Irkutsk State United Museum, it received its first visitors in 1980.
During summer, there are a café, antique workshops, and souvenir shops on the territory of the museum
Visiting it during summer is great because (if you have time) there are various activities, driving old carriages, watching artisans at work, (in the execution of souvenirs), try your aim with darts and to my surprise I found this camel quietly waiting for its owner
All this surrounded by natural old thick vegetation, with the Angara River at the back
Really a Museum that deserved a visit
How to get there
Situated on the route from Irkutsk to Lake Baikal, the Museum is opened every day from 10.00 to 16.00 in winter, from 10.00 to 18.00 in summer

what an unusual and very interesting scene, the camel waiting patiently outside the wooden building is a big plus point.

A very nice photo with the fine old style timbered house and the very cute white camel. It sounds like there is a lot to see and to do at this museum. It's just a pity that Irkutsk is so far away from almost every other place.

Ciao e buona giornata

The double-hump camel draw most the attention when looking at this charming image, Maria.
I am sure the museium is interesting and a place "must" visit when in the area - but, trully the story here is with the camel, not a common animal in most parts of the world. Its off-white fur, and the unique body shape is absolutely fabulous.
Well posted with the surrounding green and brown(the hut). Fine tech. details.

That's a cheesy grin two humped camel which is common in Central Asia and seems to be out of place! What a tamed friendly chappy we've got here - ship of the desert who can survive in the harshest of climates but being surrounded lush green. It's a fine looking beast adapting well to his new home I like the effective compo, colours, clarity and contrast and tx to your infor notes. A fine looking woolly beast beautifully captured, and tfs. Congrats

Hola querida Maria,
your composition is well balanced and elegant, fine perspectives guide us into the scenery and I think this scene is surprising and amusing. I love the arrangement of interest, the natural textures and the bright and vivid colours. Although it's just a small part of this area, this view is very inviting. There's very intriguing interaction between the camel, the door and the sign that makes me think this could be an illustration of a joke:) Una foto muy bonita, felicitaciones y gracias!
Todo lo major y buenas dias,

This is such a cool scene, every element tied together, but the camel is a big surprise! He looks out of place, yet he belongs here. Great combination of such strange elements. He has a beautiful smile too, did you ask him to say cheese before shooting? This is a picture that really makes me smile :)
thanks as always

Hi Maria, Very nice composition of this country mood museum. The log structure is its eye catching point in the frame. The white camel is waiting for the tourists to ride on his back. I wonder how much will it cost for a ride. Wonderful POV and natural colours along with great light and clarity. Thank for sharing

Based upon your fine scene, I would enjoy visiting the Taltsy Museum, and riding the camel. Siberia is such an unknown place to me and therefore important to learn about.
Thanks for sharing,
PS: Not sure what reference you are asking about "KV 40"; perhaps the Egyptian tomb in the Valley of the Kings?

Reply to your Ques.
Yes , compeletely right about Holy Shrine in Iran ,
There are 2 different and separated doors (2 Entrances) towards this Holy Place ,
In this picture and also previous one, Women enter through the right door and Men via left entrance,
I think that this is in all Religious Places in the World and all Religion have such this traditions and commands ,
Buena Suerte , Viva Argentina ***

nice the view of this section of the Taltsy museum with the wooden sample to explain the scenery. The white camel is an catching eye view of the image, with the visit in it to be a great experience for someone.

we know so little about this area that you could have said that it is a typical architecture and that this is how people live there and we would believe you :) Same with the camel.
This is a very pretty combination indeed. We may have similar style of housing in Poland but we definitely don't get camels outside the zoo.
Have a good weekend,

A camel was not what I was expecting to see in Russia!
However, it does make a great focal point for your photograph and is strongly positioned in your frame. The light is well controlled and you have revealed excellent textural details of the log cabin.
My warm regards,
Kamilutka (8107) 2014-05-05 6:23
interesting place and well composed picture. The wooden hut looks very traditional and the small camel in front of it definitely adds some interest to the composition. Well chosen POV and proper framing for this scene. Good colors and light management.
Thanks for sharing

Holy cow...or should I say "holy camel?!!" That's real...I thought it was a prop? Not something I would have ever expected to see in Russia...and a completely white one at that!? It must be close friends with the young lady from your most recent picture...both needing some sun. jaja
A very interesting note to accompany this photo, I like how you've layed out the details of the subject, and then added your personal touch behind the picture. itself. I find your travel to such a remote location quite fascinating, and the imagery adds even more interest. Clear, concise and well displayed under the bright sun.
Now I'm trying to think of funny camel names for this pasty fella. :) He should come to Arizona and get a tan...but then again, so should I! Enjoy the new day, and it certainly fits the week day and camel...Happy Hump Day! :) Be good.

I didn't know they have camels there, at first I thought is was a sculpture. It must be a very interesting place and your composition is good, with the little house with the open door and the camel outside.
