Photographer’s Note
A marshy section of scenery taken from the train on the Baikal Amur Mainline (B.A.M.) railway line, between the towns of Nizhneangarsk & Tynda, east of Lake Baikal. The taiga or coniferous forest is almost never ending. I crossed 4 time zones, between Bratsk & Vladivostok.

Hi Chris,
I would more think it is a swamp. I like those land spots in the water and the green behind. Difficult light at the sky. It is a strange vegetation, but lovely.

Great one, never was so far from home (Tynda is 10 000 kilometers from St-Petersburg, ha!); but that's how I imagined this part of Siberia. Great shot, surely!

Severe place, exotic and really far.
Superb fog, fine foreground.
Really impressive presentation.

Hi Chris,
The photo does not really present iteslf much when in thumbnail. It really hits when opened. The composition with the scaterred weeds that lead us to the denser ones and the mountain with the punishing clouds in the sky is absolutely wonderful. The colors are soft and superb.
Best regards. Salvator.

Hi Chris,
Well presented taiga view with great tender greens and a good compo with marsh in FG, forest then hills in the BG... dramatic sky adds atmosphere as well...
A long train trip that was?

Hi Chris.
Interesting document both for its esthetic qualities and for its informative content. The Taiga is inded a very specific environment, with its dense coniferous populations and these vast humid places.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Chris,
My father went of numerous times in Russia and I saw many photos but never of the Taiga.
A very attractive sight of this particular place. Sweet colors and good centring with the sight on these mountains behind.
Excellent day

Bonjour Chris,
une végétation un peu particulière et très typique.
La taiga est tel paysage, sauvage , désolé, mais très vert.
Un ciel un peu susrsaturé mais un trsè bon rendu des couleurs.
POV and framing, extra.
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Chris.
I travelled on the Trans Siberian Railway over 30 years ago, but didn't see any of this swampy stuff. I do remember the endless view of the forest stretching away to every horizon. The three 'layers' in this - the swamp, the trees, the mountains - give it a strong sense of depth and space, and the scene is really quite beautiful. The water, with its tufts of grass and reflected clouds, looks superb.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Chris,
I find this place very interesting and I like this composition where we see different layers each having its own characteristics and yet harmonized beautifully. The textural display is also very pleasing. Well done!!
Regards and all the best.
